Pembrokeshire has the only coastal national park in Britain, and a 186-mile path running the length of it. That geography shapes the accommodation: a lot of the best hot tub properties here are converted farm buildings a field or two back from the cliff, rather than anything on the seafront itself.

Where to stay in Pembrokeshire
The north coast around St Davids and Newport is wilder, quieter and better for walkers. The south, around Tenby and Saundersfoot, is family territory with beaches you can drive to. Inland around the Preseli Hills is where the value is — you're twenty minutes from the coast and paying considerably less for it.
